While this award helps some African artist boost their international exposure, there are some names in the line-up that I don't understand how they fit in to the category of African music awards, I am referring to the non African artists included in the line-up, Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, The Game and Rihanna. I acknowledge that all 4 non African artists are talented and I do enjoy their music, but they are not African artists, I can think of 10 African hip hop artists that can be nominated instead.
